ISSLN is a place of learning to hone the soft skills of leadership, networking, and communication to all participants. There are many experiences to be gained during this soft skills training. In conjunction with the symposium, this year is the 2nd year of ISSLN which will be held at Borobudur temple which has previous history of the world civilization as well as panoramic views of the beautiful valley.

The seminar has several objectives, such as:

  1. stimulating the young leader from different field of studies and geographical framework to actively share their ideas as their contribution for the future of global society.
  2. improving all the participants’ potential leadership skills
  3. maximizing the creativities of all the participants
  4. encouraging the participants to be more perceptive to problems, to share better ideas and to have good decision making skills.
  5. increasing students’ confidence to embrace the challenging world
  6. promoting global networking between all the participants

  7. Poster Exhibition ( ISTS )

    The committee will provide 25 whiteboards for 50 participants who were selected to show their poster. One whiteboard will be used for two participants’ posters side by side. Another participants should vote the favorite poster. Also, there will be some project products made by Universitas Gadjah Mada students. These are the best five products from UGM.

    Activity by JSOC

    Japan Students Organizing Committee will have an agenda about leadership and networking. The purpose of this activity is to know each country delegation and to enhance networking among the participants.

    Oral presentation ( ISTS )

    The author of the 50 best papers will give oral presentation. The 50 presenter will be divided into 4 rooms, based on their paper topic and there are juries on each room that will assess the presenters’ presentation. Each presenter has 15 minutes to present their paper. Audiences can attend the room based on his paper topic. The 4 rooms are : Hall 1/ Ayodya for the 1st topic, Hall 2 for the 2nd topic, Hall 3 for the 3rd topic, and Hall 4 for the 4th topic.

    Problem Solving Group

    Participant will be divided into 25 groups. Each group will solve the problem that the group has found at the village by discussion in the room that has been prepared by committee. Each group needs to explain the problem and how to solve it and make presentation file for oral presentation and make a poster for poster exhibition.

    Oral Presentation ( ISSLN )

    Each group has to present their solving problem. There will be jury on every room. After presenting their presentation, the group still has a chance to add some information or change information for a final poster preparation.

    Ice Breaking

    A Fun Quiz Game Show will entertain and test the participants, which is great for both test the teamwork and for entertainment. Teams are divided into groups before the Fun Quiz Game Show begins.

    Poster Exhibition ( ISSLN )

    Each group has to show their poster in the exhibition. There will be jury walking around the exhibition room and scoring every poster. There will be sponsored booth on the exhibition.

    World Café

    World café is a Seminar on Leadership which is arranged by JSOC Members and will present a Speaker from Japan. The main theme of this section is Global Leadership. This session is still related with Borobudur Leadership Experience. The purpose of World Café is to train the participants to have Leadership skills and can possibly apply it into their daily life.
