Mie Lethek is typical Bantul special noodle. One of the home industry which sells Mie Lethek is located in Sorobayan, Gadingsari, Sanden, Bantul. This business of noodle-making has been around since the 1940s and the background of its establishment is to open vacancy for local residents living nearby. The uniqueness of this noodle is not only in its name, but also its traditional and unique making process.

The main raw material of Mie Lethek are cassava and cassava flour (dried cassava). Until now, producer is still using simple and limited number of production equipment so that the production results can only meet the demand from the urban area. To dry the noodle, the producer still use direct sunlight which needs the duration of about 18 hours. Thus, when the rainy season comes, noodle production will decline. In addition, the noodles printing process also still use traditional tools which need about 8 workers to operate. Therefore, the production of Mie Lethek is limited only to meet the demand of urban scale.
